[OMIT] is best known for producing multi-layered woodworks and bold modernistic paintings. Inspirations tend to be organic and architectural in nature. The pieces often look like they are at constant play between positive and negative; dark and light.
"My pieces usually don't have any predetermined design. They are rooted in nature, but with a varying degree of abstraction. I let the composition in the woodworks evolve by removing space to determine what is positive or negative. The process has a slightly obsessive element in that it involves small repetitive movements in separate sections over and over again. I like to call it-"maximization of the minimal." When I step back from working on these sections, it is then that the design direction becomes clear to me."
The pieces are created with tools, knives, sanders, stain and sometimes "weathering" for an even more robust effect.
All pieces are created freehand and are individually inspired.
His work has been exhibited primarily throughout California & New York. He currently resides in Los Angeles and also works in feature film & video art departments.
